In Farha’s and Danish’s own words
My name is Farha Anwar. I hail from the beautiful city of lakes Bhopal. I belong to a nuclear family which includes my Mom and Dad and me and now of course my husband Danish as well. I am from the 07-09 batch of Sri Balaji Society.
I really enjoyed my 2 years at the Sri Balaji Society. First time in my life I attended classes on Saturday and Sunday which was unlike the Indian education system. Those long classroom sessions and then late night practices for cultural activities was hectic & life was tough then but as it was rightly said by our then Director Shyamlal sir that "When the going gets tough, The tough gets going". In a similar way those two years of my hard work has taught me a lot in life. Now I can work 24/7 and am not quick to complain about it, I am more practical and a disciplined person than before. I really appreciate & thank Bala Sir, Dimple Ma'am and all the Directors for all the support they provide to the students, in terms of education, workshops, and personal development activities. And would also like to thank my batch mates for the wonderful memories that we shared together.
I also met my husband Danish Ahmed at the Sri Balaji Society campus. So yes, the Institute has made my life! Got placed in Coca-Cola as Sales trainee (2009-2010). Thereafter, joined Castrol India as Territory Manager (2010-2015). And currently working as Business Manager OEM western region for Valvoline and Cummins Pvt. Ltd (2015- till date)
My husband, Danish Ahmed- got placed in HCL but did not join the company as he got selected in HUL as Area In-charge for Raigarh region (2009-2010). Thereafter he joined Coca Cola in 2010 and working till date as Key Account Manager for the rest of Maharashtra region.
Regarding my Mrs. India journey- I had done modeling during my school and college days but after I came to Pune it took a backseat. After marriage my husband supported and encouraged me to pursue my dreams and go ahead with something which I am really passionate about.
I participated in Mrs. Pune 2016 and after winning the crown I never looked back. Thereon, I went for the Mrs. India pageant where also I bagged the First Runner Up title along with Mrs. Perfect 10.
My trainer Mrs. Anjana Mascarenhas worked really hard on me and honed my speaking skills & persona.
I am honored to be representing our country India next year in the Mrs. Universe beauty pageant. My current focus is to bring the crown home as no Indian lady has won it now. I hope that with so much support from my loving and encouraging husband, family, trainers and friends I will be able to achieve my goal and astound. Root for Team India in the upcoming Mrs. Beauty pageants worldwide. This is an amazing time in the world and particularly in India, where the whole nation is cheering on the mothers, daughters, sisters, wives… the woman as an individual, be it the Olympics, the corporate world, the household, or the world beauty pageants.
My singular goal is to raise awareness and contribute in any way I can in the areas of for girl child education and woman empowerment – as only then we as a People and Nation will be truly powerful inside and on the world stage.
We can use all the prayers, support, and positive actions on the grass roots level. Let us continue cheering on for Team India being led by India women across all platforms, domains, terrains, whether household or corporate, whether sports or beauty pageants, whether in our homes or neighborhood/ communities.
