In Sujesh’s own words
Coming from a Defence family, have always stayed and studied in Air Force Stations and travelled across different parts of the country. Married to Sreelakshmi, who works as a Scientist and have a son, Vihaan, who studies in Delhi Public School at Bangalore.
Sri Balaji Society Campus experience:
The two years spent at Sri Balaji Society, would always be the most memorable time of my life. I owe my career to SBS, which taught me the fundamentals of professional life. We studied at odd times, we wrote exams at midnight, shared our campus with a school and to top it, during global recession times. But as the honorable Founder Dr. Col. A. Balasubramanian Sir says ‘Problems are Opportunities’, we sailed through and got corporates to campus. Was fortunate to work with Bala Sir very closely for placements of our senior batch, and till date I get inspired by his personality and the way he has shaped up careers of thousands of students. Today if we have a top class campus, infrastructure and amenities, it’s all because of his ‘never say die’ attitude.
Placement and corporate journey so far:
I had a stint of Channel Sales experience before I joined BIMM, but I started my career in Marketing after I got placed with LG Electronics India from Sri Balaji Society Campus Placement. I had a two year assignment with LG when I got an opportunity to lead the launch of a telecom brand in a Circle. Telecom was at a nascent stage that time and the challenge was exciting, hence joined Tata Teleservices Ltd. And went ahead to lead Marcom function in Kerala Circle. Post TTSL, had a stint with Reliance Communications to launch the brand BIG TV and was posted to Corporate Office at Mumbai. I was in the DTH/Entertainment industry and was missing the action packed environment of telecom and that’s when the acquisition of Spice Telecom by Idea Cellular happened at Karnataka, I was offered the responsibility to lead Brand Management Function and Changeover from Spice to Idea. IDEA became the fastest growing telecom brand in Karnataka and became a no.2 brand in the circle within 5 years of launch. I left IDEA in December 2016 to join Quick Heal Technologies Ltd. as Global Head of Marketing based at the corporate office at Pune. Quick heal being the market leader in Anti Virus softwares got listed a year ago with BSE and is aiming for a massive expansion of operations globally.
Message to students and Alumni:
SBS has come a long way, today its one of the top name in Management education, and it would continue to grow at a rapid pace with more and more students passing out. My message to students would be to stay sharp with the required skills for the current market scenarios and take advantage of this huge global alumni network base. Alumni’s would be more than happy to be a mentor, and guide the Alma Mater family members in their professional careers. Wish you a great career ahead.
